Activity Instructions
1 Introduction: “Today we are going to be talking about horses”
2. “Equine is another word for things related to horses. Horses have played a huge role in human history, so can anyone tell me things we get horses to do, or maybe got them to do in the past.”
Riding: carrying people for travel, transporting letters
Hauling: pulling chariots, carts, coaches and trams
Pack animals, carrying supplies
Agriculture- ploughing, harvesting, irrigation (operating pumps for water distribution)
Warfare: carrying soldiers and supplies

3.“The Equine industry is huge. Today I want you to build your own walking paper horse This task will take time, precision and trial and error.”
4.Activity: Build A Walking Paper Horse.
5.Instructions:
Make sure the pupils have a piece of paper, a ruler, a pencil/pen and a pair of scissors Give pupils the instructions for how to build a walking horse.
Explain it is really important that they measure accurately for their horse to walk.
Tip: Changing the roundness of the feet of the horse might help it to walk better.
Once you have built your horse you must use the craft supplies provided to build a a stable and a racing ramp to race your horses down.
Tip: you need friction for this to work try, felt, craft foam, paper.
You will also need to try different angles to see what works best.
